Korcula Fishing and Snorkeling Tours FAQ
Where is the meeting point?
Meeting points will be determined as per agreement, but two common meeting points are displayed at the contacts section.
I never fished before, is that a problem?
Not at all! We’ll guide you through the basics and make the experience feel as smooth as possible, be it either traditional fishing or jigging.
What fishing techniques will be covered/used?
Depending on the season, we will use the following techniques:
- Traditional Bottom Fishing – Using weighted hooks with fresh bait down to the seabed. There’s a lot of varieties with this technique.
- Trolling – Dragging a hooked artificial lure/live bait through the water from a moving boat via propulsion motor or electrical trolling motor (depending on the speed).
- Rubber Jigging – Uses light fishing rods, thin braids and rubber artificial lures to mimic smaller fish.
- Slow Jigging – Uses light & medium rods with metal jigs.
- Vertical Jigging – Same as slow jigging, but uses stronger rods and heavier lures and quicker pace of jigging in comparison.
- Tai Rubber – Japanese technique with ultra-light rods and ultra-thin braids, with sliders and flying skirts. There are similarities with Flying Fishing, but in this case fishing can be performed up to 140 meter depths.
- Drift Fishing – Usually takes place during Big Game fishing & chumming with sardines, while first sardine is hooked as bait.
- Fishing with an Electrical Reel – Covers bottom fishing, jigging and rubber jigging using an electrical reel on 100+ meters.
- Night Fishing – Covers bottom fishing, jigging and rubber jigging, usually on shipwrecks.
